SYNOPSIS
Radiator is a relational participatory installation which invites audience members to sit on cushions and witness the heat rising. Once a heat source has reached a high enough temperature, through the interaction (with properly calibrated) photons emitted from a light projection device, heat waves become visualized in light (or void of light) on the projection surface. Although the phenomena is scientific, the work has complex aesthetic connotations around artificial suns, genealogical relationships built around heat sources, and mechanism as a producer of culture and the impetus of new stages of human evolution.
